 The following are key milestones within the progression of GNS:
  • January 6, 2000   – Incorporated
  • January 6, 2000   – Elected S Corp.
  • January 12, 2000 – Signs first service contract with Excalibur Associates
  • February 2000     – Signs contract with Total Site Solutions (consultant agreement) for work on US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
  • March 2000        – Picks up McKinnon & Vadnais as commercial client
  • December 2000  – Signs contract with CBSI, Inc. (now acquired by Titan Corp.) to provide two senior engineers on the FM/EUS contract for the USPTO
  • January 2001  – Begin service on the FM/EUS I contract for the USPTO
  • February 2001  – Signs teaming agreement with Lockheed Martin for the Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (formally the Health Care Financing Administration) CITIC - Proposals submitted
  • November 2001  – Signs teaming agreement with Signal Corporation for the USPTO SETA III contract.  (Signal was the subsequent incumbent, other teaming partners include SAIC and Booz Allen & Hamilton).  Proposal submitted, BAFO submitted.
  • February 2002  – Provides additional services on the FM/EUS I contract for the USPTO
  • May 2002  – Informed of Lockheed Martin WIN (GNS Teaming Partner)
  • September 2003 – Informed of Signal Corp. WIN (GNS Teaming Partner)
  • January 2003 – Provides services for Guardian Pest Services
  • March 2003 – Provides services for Robert B. Payne
  • February 2004 – Provides DataComm/Telecom and Security subject matter expert services for General Dynamics
  • January 25, 2005 – Awarded Federal Supply Schedule GS-35F-0289R through January 24, 2010
  • December 2005 – Submitted 8a application to Small Business Administration

  • 2005 - Awarded Connections under CACI (ISS)

  • October 2006    - Awarded SBA 8(a) certification
  • 2007    - Awarded Alliant Large Business under CSC
  • 2007    - Awarded CMS ESD under SAIC
  • 2008 - Awarded IDEAI at USPTO (under General Dynamics Information Technology)
  • 2009 - Awarded OCIO IMTAS Helpdesk at USPTO (under General Dynamics Information Technology)

David M. Mayhew, President, Chairman, CEO
Mr. Mayhew (dmayhew@govtnetworksolutions.com) is the founder of Government Network Solutions, Inc. (GNS)  With over 27 years experience in the Federal IT marketplace, Mr. Mayhew received his articles of incorporation in the Commonwealth of Virginia on January 6, 2000.  GNS has grown from a 1 person company to 14 Senior FTE’s performing such services as large scale infrastructure design and migration to Certification and Accreditation as well as 24x7 operations support.  


Stephen L.  Pulsifer, Executive V.P.
With over 14 years experience, Mr. Pulsifer (spulsifer@govtnetworksolutions.com) has worked for several fortune 500 companies such as Orkand Corporation and QSS Group before he arrived at GNS.  Mr. Pulsifer has a B.S., Computer Engineering degree from Iowa State University.
